Another issue which is a growing concern is the need for water. Water is required for washing, drinking, agriculture and in the manufacturing process. The greater the population the greater the need for water in accommodating each person not only in washing, and drinking but the use of water in manufacturing for goods such as clothing, housing, food etc.

I believe the growing human population is a major contributor to pollution, degredation and extinction of other species. The mortality rate during child birth of the mother or baby has been significantly reduced over the years, humans are living longer and the cure of many diseases are factors which increase human population. This in turn places pressure on consumption of food, water, housing, clothing, transport, sewage and not forgetting the material items we are accustomed to. More land is required to house people, provide food (agriculture, dairy, meat), water (aquiring and storing), shopping centres and other leisure activities. We have become consumed with the need for wealth and have seemingly discovered the beach and living near it! If the human population grows at the rate it is now, why try and protect endangered species and rehabilitate injured wildlife if they are going to be killed off by land clearing, cars and truck or the pure ignorance and pig headedness of people who think it is their right to harm or torture another species for no other reason than their life is so empty and pathetic!

In nature disease is present in all species, it is there to control popluation. The equalibrium of our ecosystem is unbalanced. Money, greed and ignorance is what holds us back to do something responsible for the future of this planet.
